Travesuras de la niña mala by Mario Vargas Llosa
A facinating story about an impossible love story between Ricardo a young Peruian and Lily a young girl which he met during sammer vacation.
Ricardo's dream is to live in Paris, which he does for the majority of his adult life.
He works as a translator and lives a normal life.
Normal in all but his love life.

The story takes place in few countries and during about 40 year in which Ricardo suffers from his love to Lily which on her side consider him as safe heaven between her advantures with other men.
Over all the story builds slowly and advances towards the obvious ending.
It was fan reading.

My Life as Emperor by Su Tong
Duanbai is a young Prince in the Xie Empire who inherits his father’s place even though he is not the eldest son. Story takes you through his days as ruler of the Empire, describes the Palace intrigue and traditions.
The story develops slowly and too slowly at times. There were times where I wanted to read another page / another chapter and other times where I rest the book a side for few days or weeks.
I found the last part (let's say 15%) as the most interesting part.
The book is full of Chinese names for places and characters which were tiring to remember them so at one point I just stopped paying attention to them. :-)

The Jewish Dog by Asher Kravitz
The story is told by a dog, a Jewish dog, born in a Jewish home in the days prior to WWII and walks you through the days of the war.
Friendship and loyalty is what the story is about.
The story is fluent and light and the wars is only in the background.

Having a family of my own have grown feelings and emotions i didn't have before...
The end brought tears to my eyes...real tears!

I finished reading Niloofar by Ron Leshem.
The story developed well during the majority of the book and then it felt like the author was rushing to finish the book and brings it to an end within a chapter or two.
I would say the end is kind of depressing, i have no idea if that's what the author meant to do.
All in all - readable novel, but i've read betters.

So it turns out that "To the End of the Land" by David Grossman is unreadable.

So i switched to "Niloofar" by Ron Leshem, so far it is interesting enough to keep reading it.
The story is about a young student in Iran which moved from his hometown to Teheran to live with his ex-Famous Hunt.
The story takes place in present time.

I'll post again when I'll finish reading.

I finished reading "The Kite Runner" by Khaled Hosseini.
It is a sad story with lots of tragedy.
It has 'down' moments and some 'high' moments.
when you feel things are getting better...they take a turn for the worst.

But hope is out there...

February is here

Well February is here again...and my birthday is around the corner.
Like the last year, this year I will be celebrating my b-day with the twins.
The kids have grown so much this year...it's amazing!!
They run, climb, chat, play, push, hit, cry and laugh all at the same time.
Today I took them to take the swine flew shot (2nd quota), they cried a little bit, but all in all feel good.

about me,
Currently reading "The Kite Runner" by Khaled Hosseini.
So far it is an interesting novel.
